#2 is my #1. Here’s whoa I teach it at my school http://thelighthousechristianacademy.com in Santa Monica: If you’re bored writing, I’m bored reading, and it will be graded accordingly. I tell students to try to connect the essay with their own personal pain. When you write from the perspective of pain, you write passionately, you write convincingly, you write well.
