Yes, that’s mini weapons of mass destruction, which is my new teaching fad. Here’s the book I’m using. Talk about cool.
So this book has catapults, bows and arrows, crossbows, and ballistae, all made with craft sticks, rubber bands, and the like. To get very teacher-y, it’s perfect for learning to follow sequential steps using diagrams and text; practicing fine motor skills; examining probability, data collection, and measurement; and learning about the history of knighthood, etc. And self-control. Did I mention not shooting your teacher or classmates? This volume and its companions are guaranteed to add intrigue and possible lawsuits to anyone’s teaching career. For craft-challenged folks like me, this is a win-win. Much better than Vladimir, my turkey pumpkin, right?
